80s Song of the Day: Eat It by “Weird Al” Yankovic

Eat It by “Weird Al” Yankovic was released on February 28, 1984, with That Boy Could Dance as the B side. It was a single from Yankovic’s second studio album, “Weird Al” Yankovic in 3-D.

The song is a parody of Michael Jackson’s Beat It. It reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 36 on the UK Singles chart. In Australia, it was a No. 1 hit.
